"Play Against" at UCR Sweeney Art Gallery

For this solo exhibition we created a suite of performative video pieces that explore the tension between competition and cooperation that runs through our culture, evoking related narratives like class and personal achievement, and connecting those narratives to the foreclosure crisis in Riverside and the Inland Empire at large. The pieces in the exhibition were How You Play The GameTemporarily Embarrassed, and The Wisdom of Crowds. The Sweeney has an extensive archive, with photos, links, and an essay by curator Jennifer Frias, here. Southern California Public Radio station KPCC did a story on the show, which is archived here.
